Bouquet Care Instructions
Preserve the beauty. Extend the memory.
Your bouquet has been curated with care. To help it last beautifully, follow these steps:
Step 1: First Things First
Most of our wrapping is water-resistant and designed to protect your blooms. You may leave it on if it complements your vase and doesn’t obstruct water flow. If you prefer a minimalist look, gently remove the wrapping and handle each stem with care—your bouquet is a living composition. Be sure to remove any leaves or petals below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth.
Step 2: Prepare a Clean Vase
Choose a vase that fits your bouquet comfortably. Wash it thoroughly with warm water and mild soap to remove any residue or bacteria. Rinse well before filling. A clean vase is essential for keeping your flowers fresh.
Step 3: Trim the Stems
Using sharp floral shears or scissors, trim each stem at a 45° angle, cutting about ½ inch from the bottom. This opens the stem for better water absorption. Repeat this step every 2–3 days to maintain hydration and prevent stem blockage.
Step 4: Fill with Fresh Water
Fill the vase with room-temperature water, about two-thirds full. If you don’t have floral preservative, you can add one of the following household options:
- A few drops of bleach (to reduce bacteria)
- A teaspoon of sugar (to nourish the blooms)
Mix gently and avoid overdoing it—less is more.
Step 5: Place Thoughtfully
Position your bouquet in a cool, shaded area, away from direct sunlight, heating vents, or appliances. Avoid placing near ripening fruit—ethylene gas can cause flowers to wilt faster.
Step 6: Refresh the Water
Change the water every 48 hours, depending on your environment. If the water appears cloudy or has a strong odor, change it immediately. Wash the vase before refilling.
Step 7: Remove Fading Blooms
As individual flowers begin to fade, gently remove them to allow the remaining stems to thrive. This keeps your arrangement looking fresh, balanced, and intentional.
🌸 Flower Lifespan
With proper care, most Dame des Fleurs arrangements last 5–7 days. Some specialty stems may last longer, while delicate varieties may fade sooner. We are not liable for shortened lifespan due to:
- Improper care or lack of water
- Extended time outside water during pickup or delivery
- Exposure to heat, sunlight, or extreme temperatures
If your bouquet arrives in poor condition, please contact us within 2 hours of receipt with photos so we can assess and resolve the issue.
✨ A Final Note
"Some flowers bloom for days. Others bloom for moments. But the ones made with intention—stay with you forever."
